Ishiaya’s Garden Bistro is Asian Fusion Restaurant in the heart of Tabaco City, Albay, Philippines.
In the heart of Tabaco, a Japanese- Filipino infused bistro was born. It was named IshiAya’s Garden Bistro, a portmanteau word of the owner, Rechie S. Hayakawa (Aya Medel) and her daughter, Shania Ishi Hayakawa. As a citizen of the world, she based her menu on the different countries to which she has been. She created a gastronomic fusion of food from Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan and the Philippines. She used the techniques she has learned from her school, from the combination of herbs and spices, the art of plating and everything in between, presented with pagkamoot (love). Paintings by the popular Binaday Brothers such as Albay’s perfect cone-shaped Mt. Mayon, Cagsawa Ruins, and the Albay Gulf, are painted on the bistro walls in 3D style. She wanted to incorporate her personal touch that’s why a glass panel was crafted to separate the kitchen from the dining area, specially designed to showcase the actual food preparation and presentation. A combination of Japanese and Filipino design defines our Japino Al Fresco area. Japanese food enthusiasts can enjoy authentic Yakiniku (grilled meat dishes). IshiAya’s Garden Bistro’s team is composed of well-trained cooks and food attendants, 99% of which are Tabaqueñoes.
