Influenced by a small canton in northeast Switzerland, our beautiful Swiss-style inn was a grand vision by a cheesemaker, restauranteur, architect, and printer. The dream became a reality in 1980 and has been a treasure of New Glarus ever since it was built. The Chalet Landhaus Inn was built in a traditional Swiss style with a perfect blend of modern convenience and old-world Swiss décor—it's a touch of Switzerland close to home.
From the historic dairies and creameries to the newer organic farms, there is a diversity of food and farmstead products here in Green County and nearby communities. Fat Cat Coffee Works at 606 Railroad St in New Glarus is a cool place to hang out at or visit. Serving breakfast and lunch everyday, expanded breakfast items on Saturday and Sunday until 1pm, beer and wine anytime, small appetizer plates. Located right on the bike path on your way into town, wi-fi available.
Our menu is quite varied, with Friday night fish fry, Saturday Prime rib or steak specials, Thursday night BBQ ribs special and Tuesday's Salmon and shrimp special.
