Located in the heart of picturesque Llangollen is Gales Wine Bar, established in 1977 by Richard Gale. Gales is the oldest wine bar in Wales, run by Pip (Richards son). This family business offers finely crafted dishes under the expert eye of Head Chef Jack Hatley using the freshest seasonal and local ingredients. All the produce on the menu is created on site, including butchery, baking bread daily and churning ice cream. We also cook using cutting edge technology such as sous vide, pressure cooking and modern gastronomy

The Chainbridge Hotel has been providing guests with a warm welcome since 1827! Family-owned & run since June 2012, the hotel offers guests overnight accommodation, lunch, dinners, drinks, weddings...and so much more!
Our friendly staff will be delighted to serve you as you enjoy our beautiful & unique location. Overlooking the restored & reopened historic chain bridge (which dates from 1827!), the fast-flowing River Dee & the Llangollen Railway line with its steam & diesel engines!
The first thing that strikes people as they walk through the door is the great jumble of old beams everywhere, and the water wheel turning slowly behind the bar. The decks outside are built directly over the mill race and the rapids, and on the opposite bank of the river, steam trains arrive and leave from the restored station. Mountains and hills rise all around, and the smell of ozone fills the air – it’s a guaranteed hangover cure.
Standing above a beautiful stretch of the river Dee close to the centre of the pretty market town of Llangollen. The Hand Hotel with its stunning riverside garden, old world charm, ample free parking is ideal for romance, for families, and groups, whether private or business, as well as for your Wedding or Conference.
