It all began with an EIT Cafe Course that Stephan started to teach in Tolaga. Huia and Aroha (Boomie) were students. Half way through the course, and after working together for a while in the Cafe the topic of "We should do something as a group" came up.
At the same time, Lily was looking for someone to lease the Cafe in The Tolaga Bay Inn.
So we joined up and started talking, what can we do, how will it work...
We are all 3 now very good Baristas, so one big focus will be coffee. The food will (hopefully our guest will accept) become healthier than what it is right now.
Our aim is to use fresh produce, sourced as locally as possible.
We are looking at fresh seafood, want to start to sell Crayfish, we are looking for a pizza oven, and of course, we have excellent bakers and cooks and a chef with 25 years experience under his belt.
