The Back of Beyond stands on the site of a ginger-beer factory, which was later used as a Salvation Army barracks. In November 1996, the pub opened its doors as part of the Wetherspoon chain and was given its name due its location on the edge of town.
At the Back of Beyond we strive to provide the very best customer experience, with superb quality, choice and value, in both food and drink. As for the choice of food, our all-day menu offers an exciting mix of traditional meals, along with popular and innovative international dishes – all at reasonable prices.

- Wednesday: Quiz night from 8pm, £1 entry per person, £50 prize for the winning team
- Thursdays: Curry Club* – a never-ending list of delicious dishes from £5.59 (from noon)
- Friday: Come and enjoy a relaxing drink after work in our beautiful riverside beer garden and get ready for your weekend. Drink offers available including 2 cocktail pitchers for £10.
- Saturday: Escape from the hustle and bustle of daytime town shopping, and join us for a drink and bite to eat. Come back in the evening with friends and enjoy any of our wide selection of drinks.
- Sunday: Sunday Club* – a traditional roast with all the trimmings, choose from either: chicken, pork, beef or vegetarian for £6.59 (available noon to 6pm)
