Hand Made Coffees come out of a small
boutique roastery situated at the mouth of the
Keiskamma River in the Eastern Cape.
Not aiming at volume, it emphasizes quality and
FRESHNESS above all else. A roasted coffee bean is only at its best for 10 days after roasting. With this in mind, Small batches are roasted every few days and supplies are replenished regularly to ensure freshness.
Garvey, the specialist roaster at Hand Made Coffees, focuses exclusively on Espresso and espresso based drinks such as the Cappuccino and Latte. His blend of purely Arabica beans represents the five growing regions of the world (South America, Central America, Africa, South East Asia, and Ethiopia).
The roast is a medium/dark with a taste profile that is high in citrus notes (to counter the muting effects of the dairy in a Cappuccino), but not without a certain natural sweetness and plenty of dark chocolaty hints too!
This is a full bodied and complex coffee and it’s
freshness elevates it above the normal!
