Frances Marie's Restaurant and Cantina

Frances Marie’s Restaurant & Cantina opened its doors in May of 2016 with the goal of becoming a new and exciting addition to the restaurant landscape of our area. With a dream of combining the rich history of our County with traditional Mexican recipes and dishes developed and loved in South Texas, Frances Marie’s has designed and presented a menu that takes Tex-Mex to a new level. We pride ourselves in the fact that all of our selections are made daily from scratch with only the finest ingredients and freshest produce brought in daily. Recipes from generations of Mexican cuisine grace our kitchen and help us maintain the high standards that honor our namesake, Frances Marie McNeill.Taking an existing Restaurant and completely updating and remolding the facility was the first step. In a process that took almost two years, the building that once housed a Victoria tradition, Siesta Restaurant, was completely re-invented into a new and modern facility. A state of the art kitchen designed by food service engineers and designers was installed in the existing kitchen area with strict attention to food safety and sanitation. No expense was spared with the consideration of the safety of both our staff and the customers that entrust and allow us to cook for themselves and their families. The dining areas were designed for comfort with simple elegance and a welcoming atmosphere that allows our patrons to feel at home. Added to the existing floor plan of the original structure is an area that encompasses our banquet room, new and luxurious bathrooms and a drive through service area. Our banquet room has been named the L6 Room at Frances Marie’s after one of the original cattle brands, L6, which was used by Jose Maria Gonzales, the great grandfather of Frances Marie. Jose Maria Gonzales was one of the pioneer cattleman of Victoria County, coming to Victoria from Mexico in 1859 and establishing his ranching and cattle business. We like to think that the heart and soul of our restaurant is based on and steeped in those great family traditions brought here six generations ago. That tradition is today carried on by Frances Marie’s sons, John Lee and Mark McNeill. We hope you can come and enjoy our restaurant. Our desire is to be known as a place where family and friends can meet, enjoy a good meal and share happy times, much in the same way that we grew up in our favorite meeting place, our family kitchen. From our family to yours, know that we will always strive to make your experience a memorable one and do what we can every day to be a little bit better than the day before. That’s really the only way our mother would have wanted it!
