Tyto alba é a marca referência dos vinhos produzidos pela Companhia das Lezírias bem como o nome científico da coruja-das-torres.

A coruja-das-torres regista uma abundância no estuário do Tejo entre as mais elevadas da Europa e talvez do mundo.
Intrigante e misteriosa, a coruja-das-torres (Tyto alba) encontra refúgio nos habitats promovidos pela reconhecida gestão agroflorestal sustentável da Companhia das Lezírias. Fundamental na protecção do equilíbrio ecológico das nossas vinhas, esta ave é um dos garantes do compromisso que assumimos com a conservação da biodiversidade.
A marca Tyto alba homenageia não só uma espécie amiga do viticultor porque utiliza as áreas agrícolas para se alimentar, mantendo as suas vinhas protegidas e utilizando frequentemente construções humanas para nidificar, mas também pelo seu papel de sentinela na avaliação da exposição e dos efeitos secundários da contaminação ambiental.
Alem da simbologia associada à acção directa da coruja-das-torres, a marca celebra ainda o esforço efectuado na Companhia das Lezírias resultante de sólidas parcerias com Universidades e outros organismos nacionais e internacionais dedicados à investigação científica com o objectivo de promover a sustentabilidade da gestão da florestal, com particular ênfase para a conservação e promoção da biodiversidade.

The barn owl, which is abundantly present in Tejo’s estuary is among the highest in Europe and perhaps the world.
Intriguing and mysterious, the barn owl (Tyto alba) finds refuge in habitats created by the recognised sustainable agroforestry management Companhia das Lezírias. This bird, which is vital for protecting the ecological balance of our vineyards, is one of the guarantees of the commitment we have made to conserving biodiversity.
The Tyto alba brand honors not just a friendly species of the winegrower because it uses agricultural areas for food, keeping their vineyards protected and often using human constructions to nest, but also for its sentinel role in assessing exposure and side effects environmental contamination.
Besides the symbology associated with the barn owl’s direct action, the brand celebrates Companhia das Lezírias’ efforts resulting in strong partnerships with Universities and other national and international organizations dedicated to scientific research in order to promote sustainability management forest, with particular emphasis on the preservation and biodiversity promotion.
