You’ll find us a stones throw away from the Minster. We love tradition & History at Thomas’s. In 2012 we reopen Thomass as a British pub after its closure in 2010 to become a Mexican bar. With so many British pubs closing we were proud to open the doors as Thomass and give it back its rightful family name.
You’ll see on here and especially within Thomases that we spell our name in different variations, this is due to a long standing debate on how the family name should be spelt, so we figured we’d use them all. It annoyed one Tripadvisor reviewer so much that he thought we couldn’t spell that he out up a a negative review about it. So if you pop in “Yes, we know it’s spelt differently all over the place…. we did it “
We Pride ourselves on a warm welcome, local real ales including one of the uk’s rarest, a wine list we personally drank alot of to hand pick, and great food from local farms & suppliers.
Come see our new celebrity ceiling signed by a British Oscar winner or see our wall of heads with a difference!! Sit in our theatre room or have afternoon lunch with the Queen watching over you with our 10ft mural of her passing Thomas’s in 1972 on a Royal visit to York. You can even see our sign in the background.
Come sit and enjoy a variety of cask ales, or sample out delicious menu and either enjoy one of the silent movies we show or play on a board game with friends… We look forward to meeting you.
We’re well worth a visit & we hope to see you soon, check out our Trip Advisor reviews for past customers amazing comments.
