Market Street Cafe & Apothecary is a collaboration of passions of the two masterminds, Chef Sutton & Monique VanGunten. Chef Sutton has been in the food industry for 20 years and is the curator of Gonzo Juice LLC. His creativity and passion for food has given him the opportunity to own and operate two cafes and two food truck operations throughout his career. He has also supervised and has been the food and safety educator at Whole Foods Inc. Sutton knows his flavors and he has taken joy in creating special spice blends for his ever evolving menus. His wife Monique is a natural healthcare practitioner that is currently in her clinical portion of the Wildflower School of Botanical Medicine. She has a passion for the plant world and utilizes her knowledge to help others find balance through nourishment and support. She is a woman of many talents and has combined her years of education, hard work and ambition to bring Lockhart their first apothecary. Her favorite quote by Hippocrates (regarded as the father of medicine in Greece, born in 460 BC), "Let thy food be thy medicine and thy medicine be thy food" Chef Sutton and Monique have chosen to bring the folks of Lockhart a combination of what they love and they encourage you to join them in eating delicious food, smoothies, milkshakes, fresh squeezed juices, select teas and herbal blends. Monique promises to hold special classes in the future for those that are interested in making their own remedies. Stay tuned and make sure to sign up on her email list upon our opening.
