Wild Saffron is an award-winning restaurant, gourmet food store and catering business in the Clare Valley, South Australia.
Wild Saffron opened its doors in 2008, making specialty gourmet supplies available to ‘foodies’ in the Clare Valley. It quickly earned a swag of accolades, along with a reputation as the hub for outstanding coffee, delicious cakes and heart-warming hospitality in Clare.
In May 2010, Heather and Darren Pretlove took Wild Saffron under their wing, with a vision to expand the restaurant business and emerge as the Clare Valley’s food headquarters. It now buzzes with activity seven days a week, offering breakfast, lunch and the all-day menu on weekdays and breakfast on weekends.
Key to Wild Saffron’s success is Heather’s love of entertaining. She’s dubbed ‘the hostess with the mostest’ and thrives on the constant banter with her staff and customers. In fact, visit Wild Saffron and you’re likely to encounter her cheeky sense of humour! Beneath the bubble and fun, Heather and her team work tirelessly to make Wild Saffron the heart of gourmet food in Clare. It stocks a constantly-evolving range of epicurean produce, caters for events of all sizes and even opens its doors every few months for a night of themed-cuisine and live music.
And of course, there’s the unbeatable Rio espresso coffee. As most locals know, Wild Saffron is the Clare Valley’s answer to your caffeine craving. You can always count on a cup of fresh coffee and a welcoming space to catch up with friends, read the daily newspaper…or have a chat with Heather.
